Philosophy

Why color matters more than you think

Color isn't decoration — it's atmosphere. The right palette makes a room feel larger, warmer, more intimate, or more alive. The wrong one does the opposite, no matter how beautiful the furniture.

As a former art teacher, Darius understands color relationships at a level most painters simply don't. He knows how a sage green will shift under afternoon light, how a terracotta accent wall will warm an entire room, and why that Pinterest color never looks right on your walls.

That's the difference between picking colors and designing with them.

Common color mistakes we fix

  • ×Choosing colors under store lighting instead of your home's light
  • ×Picking colors in isolation without considering adjacent rooms
  • ×Ignoring undertones that clash with existing materials
  • ×Selecting trendy colors that don't suit your home's architecture
  • ×Using the same white everywhere instead of tailoring to each room
